Waste Management
We provide several options to help you sort and dispose of waste responsibly:
- One bin with two compartments: one for non-recyclable waste, the other for recyclables
- One container for glass recycling
- One outdoor composter for organic waste
Non-recyclable waste (not suitable for composting)
Tissues, paper towels, baby diapers, and other hygiene products
Food residues that cannot be composted at home (e.g. shellfish remains, chewing gum)
Glass recycling
Please place your glass bottles, jars, and yogurt pots in the outdoor bin provided for this purpose.
You can also take your glass waste to the public recycling container near the Salle des Fêtes in IGE or at the entrance to Saint-Cosme-en-Vairais, close to the Intermarché supermarket.
Composter for organic waste
A composter is available for recycling:
- Kitchen scraps, peelings, fruits and vegetables, bread, coffee grounds, eggshells, fruit pits and cores, etc.

Reminder of recycling guidelines — items to place in the second compartment:
Plastic packaging:
- Trays, yogurt pots, toothpaste tubes, disposable cups, plastic film, beverage
- bottles with caps, shampoo bottles, food cartons (e.g. juice or milk cartons).
Paper and cardboard packaging:
CBiscuit boxes, clean food packaging (e.g. unsmeared pizza boxes), small parcel boxes (larger volumes should be taken to the recycling center), cardboard cups, etc.
Metal packaging:
Tin cans, soda cans, empty aerosols without hazardous substances (e.g. whipped cream, deodorant), coffee capsules.
